Mini Life Drawing Session

In order to make the most of our time at Venue off the Square, where we are hosting the Best/Worst show this Saturday, we are also hosting a mini life drawing session!
We will have a clothed model to pose for us for one hour, and you can come and draw with us for free (please note the model will not be nude, as the space has large picture windows at the front).  Space permitting, we will hang up our “best” and “worst” drawings to be part of the show that evening. We will have some newsprint and something to draw with, but please bring your own supplies if you want anything nicer than that.  We will not have easels, so you may want to bring a large sketch pad with a hard back, or a drawing board and clips if you prefer to use loose paper.  We will do a short warm up series, then two or three poses that are 10-20 minutes in length. Please arrive a few minutes early to set up so we can begin promptly.
Who: anyone who is interested in drawing from life
What: Mini life drawing session
When: Saturday, September 16 from 4-5 pm
Where: Venue off the Square, 223 S. Travis Street, Sherman, TX
Why: To get in a little drawing practice and enjoy the company.
And did I mention that this is free?
By the Way…..
Sherman’s Arts Fest is this Saturday on the Municipal lawn just a few blocks away, so it is a great opportunity to make a day of it in Downtown Sherman.  In addition to live music, festival foods, and the many arts&crafts booths selling everything from jewelry to pickles, the Sherman Art League will have their Annual “Fine Arts Show and Sale” on display inside the Municipal Ballroom at 400 N. Rusk from 10am-4:30 pm, AND the Texoma Woodcarvers Guild usually has a show too that’s really neat.
If you plan to attend the Mini Life-Drawing session, please let me know so we can try to set up for the right number of people.  However, if you decide at the last minute that you’d like to come, please do feel free to join us even if you haven’t reserved a spot.
Hope to see you Saturday!
